Alex Pain's recent artworks explore themes around the reverence of objects, craftsmanship and associations of beauty. Latest artwork 'The Brandishing Sticks' are a study on ergonomic design and the appreciation of an aesthetic caused by practicality. Pain learns and hones skills during the making process and abstracts objects with ornate materials to leave behind only a suggestion of a useful design.
